The Best Pocket Size Cameras Reviews – Features You Need

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

There are camera makers that always seem to stand out from the rest. It’s often those who have been around for a long time and have the experience and resources to continue making advances in digital photography.

While there’s no apparent decline in the demand for feature rich digital cameras, there is a tremendous amount to choose from, and that level of competition in any industry means you, as the consumer, will benefit from companies trying to outdo each other for a greater slice of the market. If you’re in the market for something special, take a look at the following cameras. By the way, you should definitely have a look at the HD HERO, highly recommended. Here are some GoPro reviews.

The Canon PowerShot S90 is terrific camera that can produce high quality images indoors without use of a flash. Commonly, camera makers create a line of cameras that is focused on one specific strong point or application. In this case, S90 does well in low light conditions because of its wide angle lens and ability to capture subtle details. A lot of people also like that you can use the large display to view your photos.

This camera is for those who like a bit more control over their photographic compositions. You have manual control of aperture, sensitivity, and the shutter speed. All that plus the easy to use interface for settings makes this camera a great choice. While we’re reluctant to discuss the Nikon Coolpix S3000, we will take a look at this camera out of fairness and because they have made improvements. After all, Nikon has been around long enough to be shown some respect. This ultra-compact camera is good for those with a tight budget because it is inexpensive. But the S3000 is, unfortunately, average or slightly above average. It’s features, including the 12 megapixels, are pretty standard. But it’s LCD screen is a disappointment as it can be quite difficult to see in the sunlight. Because this camera is mostly constructed of plastic, it appears to be cheaply made. We felt the image quality to be average, and you won’t scream when you see the picture quality. You will get the job done with this camera but it is meant specifically for a certain budget.

The PowerShot SD750 by Canon is included because it’s such a good all around pocket size camera. In addition to excellent movie quality, it happens to be a solid digital camera. The camera produces high ISO quality photographs we find quite nice. For an ultra-compact digital camera with a large LCD, this is a great choice. Fans of this particular camera are people who prefer using the LCD screen for snapping shots instead of looking through the viewfinder. While the 3 inch LCD may not be as crisp as some other models on the market it is easily viewable even in the sunlight.

So many terrific digital pocket sized cameras with fabulous features, so little time. Many of these models are follow ups to correct shortcomings that didn’t get noticed until after production. This is not a problem for most people, or us. People have all kinds of uses for their ultra-compact cameras, and so bear that in mind and then find a great camera that suits your lifestyle and purpose. Last but not least, don’t forget to look at this GoPro helmet review.
